J. V. Updike From Elder Updike's Work (1876)

From Elder Updike's Work.

Since my last writing, I have preached quite a number of times. Held one ordinance meeting with the church at Salem bethel. Had quite a good time. Baptized four of the converts at Kirby. Others intend to attend to the ordinances soon. The first day of July we had a very good basket-meeting for the benefit of the Sabbath-schools. Good music and good speeches by different brethren. We spent one Lord's day of late with Elder S. Kline, in Findlay. Had a very pleasant time with the elder and his family.
