J. V. Updike From Kirby, O. (1875)

From Kirby, O.

BRO. FORNEY: Over three weeks ago I commenced a series of meetings at Kirby. At first matters looked rather dull, as you can hardly ever get a revival started in one place three years in succession. However, by prayer and faith in God, and by earnest persuasion, sinners will give up to God. Up to the present date eleven have been to the altar for prayers, and three have made the good profession, and last evening five arose for the prayers of the people of God. The church also is must revived. We earnestly request every one to pray for the salvation of souls in this place.

            Yours in Christ,
J. V. UPDIKE.
