J. V. Updike From Rock Run, Ohio (1876)

From Rock Run, Ohio.

BRO. FORNEY: The next evening after I closed the meeting at the Indian Mills, I commenced a series of meetings with the Church of God at the Rock Run bethel. When I came here I found the church in good working order, all working together in love and harmony. This church is always ready to do their duty. The third evening of the meeting four came to the altar to pray and be prayed for. The meeting has been in progress a little over a week now. Up to this date quite a number have made the good profession. Some very old men have come out on the Lord's side. The meeting is still growing in interest. God will always bless an humble, prayerful, obedient, liberal church. When I say liberal, I am "not stingy." Such is the church at Rock Run. Pray that this work of grace may continue. To God be the glory.
