J. V. Updike From Wyandot Circuit, Ohio (1876)

From Wyandot Circuit, Ohio.

DEAR BRO. FORNEY: I closed the meeting at Rock Run the evening of February 20th, after it had been in progress a little over two weeks. There were some that came to the altar for prayer that were left uncomforted. There were fifteen accession to the church, mostly heads of families. Just before we commenced this meeting the U. B. Church closed one in this neighborhood that had been in progress nearly ten weeks. We had an idea that our churches for doing anything were slim. However we trusted in God and he gave us the victory. To him be the glory. Thanks to Brothers Skates, Rockwell and Kinsley for their help. We now commence at the Plains. Pray for us.

J. V. UPDIKE.
