J. V. Updike Meeting in Findlay, O. (1876)

Meeting in Findlay, O.

Two weeks ago last Sabbath we commenced a series of meetings in the bethel at Findlay. Though I am sorry to say that the church was not in working order at first, yet there were some ready and willing to take hold of the work and do all they could for the salvation of souls. We trusted in God. He blessed his only word, and the Spirit did its office work upon the hearts of some sinners, and up to the present writing seventeen have been at the altar of prayer, eleven have made the good profession, and the attention to the preaching is good. The house is crowded every night. Some nights they could not all get in. Last Sabbath evening it was said that more went away that could not get in the house than there were in. It is God's work. To him be all the glory. Pray for us in Findlay.
