Daniel S. Warner From Ashland Circuit, Ohio (1877)

From Ashland Circuit, Ohio.

We have just closed our meeting at Shenandoah, Richland county, O. Result, only two converted and fellowshiped. Last winter, soon after closing our good revival meeting at this place, a system, or rather a mixed up mess of formalism and deception was vended here and swallowed by a large number of awakened sinners who were willing to disturb the "old man" by a godly repentance. And as many of those poor victims have turned out no better than before, and are now ashamed to come to the house of God, and others are still hanging to the sinking wreck and doing all they can against Holy Ghost religion; these elements of death have damned up the water of life and limited the Holy One of Israel. Thank God the church is standing firmly to their post. Bro. W. H. Oliver and self are going to labor jointly in the work, including Mansfield. We have a meeting now in progress at Blooming Grove, Richland county, and one week from Sabbath begin another five miles southwest of Perryville. Who can come and help us?
