From Ashland Circuit, Ohio.
The cause of Christ is in a fair degree of prosperity on the Ashland circuit. My last meeting on the circuit was at Blooming Grove. Converts, 18; 10 have been immersed, and 12 fellowshiped; most of them at Shenandoah. Here again I had the assistance of our dearly-esteemed Bro. G. W. Wilson, and two discourses from Bro. J. B. Kauffman.
After closing here, I assisted in a meeting in Wyandotte county, Ohio, held by L. M. Keller and Kauffman, which resulted in some twenty professed conversions and a small organization.
Thus the whole winter, from November to April, was spent in protracted efforts, resulting in about 120 converts--55 immersed and 97 fellowshiped.
Our recent ordinance meetings on the circuit were very lively and profitable. Nearly all the converts obeyed their leader and commander. I had the presence and assistance of Elders A. Resh, J. Briggle, P. J. Russel and J. P. Miller. They all have our thanks.
Bros. Russel and Miller are good, faithful local preachers, always ready to assist and fill appointments, and are doing a good work by taking up new appointments. They are true lovers of the Church of God, possess good preaching abilities, and should be in the active ministry. May the Lord open their way.
