BRO. FORNEY.--Brother John James and self began a protracted effort at a new point in Huron county, Ohio, November 20. Indications for a revival were soon manifest, but no sooner had the work broken out than Satan began his work. A few agents of his, disposed much like the dog in the manger, succeeded in closing the school house and stopping the meeting. There were four conversions; one of the number was a man who had read the Bible for many years and was much tangled up in skepticism and Universalism. He now sees every man clearly. They joined together in fellowship as the Church of God, eleven in number. One lady in that vicinity has embraced religion since the meeting closed. There is a good prospect for a large Church in that place.
From there we moved to the Union Bethel, where we continued until New Year's night. There were two conversions and four baptized. During this meeting there were some precious seasons. God's children were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and were sometimes so happy that they hardly knew whether they were in the body or out of the body. We all had a good time observing the ordinances on watch-night.
