Daniel S. Warner "Not Slothful in Business" (1876)

"Not Slothful in Business."

There is much in the past record of the Eldership that we should improve upon. We would save time and make business go off more pleasantly if we would acquaint ourselves more with the rules of order usually adopted in deliberative bodies. Let us brush up on this point.

2d. Let all the preachers see that the mission interest is paid up on their fields. Brethren should all pay this interest annually, that it can be accumulating interest in the kingdom of the Lord. In the East, where we are so much in arrears, I hope every cent will come in. Come, brethren, our pledges are out; let us not be slothful in meeting them.

3d. Was there not an apportionment made by the Standing Committee to the various circuits for means to defray their expenses? I think so; but cannot find the paper. Look it up; raise the money; it is really due those brethren.
