Daniel S. Warner Revivals (1869)

Revivals.

BRO. THOMAS:--

From the meeting held at Bro. Long's I went to Beldon settlement, where there is a small Church consisting of two brethren and several sisters. I held a meeting there three weeks, much of which time the roads were very bad, the nights dark and consequently the attendance small. The meeting suffered much for want of more laborers. Seven were converted and four united with the Church. After three days' rest, I commenced an effort at Union school house; here much trouble existed among the brethren which greatly darkened the prospect for a revival; but the Lord answered the prayers of His people, and clothed the word with power, and soon the altar was crowned with penitents, sometimes as high as thirteen. Conviction was general among the people, but it seemed very difficult for them to believe to the saving of their souls. I had the assistance of Bro. Hickernell and one sermon from Bro. Now. We continued the meeting between two and three weeks, which resulted in sixteen conversions and seven united; others are expected to come in, and some will unite at Anderson Bethel. May the Lord give these brethren and sisters grace enough henceforth to live in peace and love.
