      The electronic edition of B. W. Johnson's The Christian International Lesson Commentary for 1887 has been produced from a copy of the printed text published by Oracle Publishing Co. (Des Moines, MO: [1886]).

      Pagination in the electronic version has been represented by placing the page number in brackets following the last complete word on the printed page. In the printed text, Scripture text from the Common and Revised versions appears at the head of each page throughout the lessons; in the electronic edition, the Scripture passages from both versions appears immediately before the three divisions in each lesson. Inconsistencies in spelling, capitalization, punctuation, and typography have been retained; however, corrections have been offered for misspellings and other accidental corruptions.
