NOVEMBER 9

MORNING

I have laid help upon one that is mighty;

I have exalted one chosen out of
the people.

I , EVEN I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour.--There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.--There is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

      The mighty God.--Who made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: and being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name.--We see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.--Forasmuch . . . as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same.

PSA. 89. 19. Is. 43. 11.--1 Ti. 2. 5.--
Ac. 4. 12. Is. 9. 6.--Phi. 2. 7-9.--He. 2. 9.--
He. 2. 14.

EVENING

Gather my saints together unto me; those

that have made a covenant with me
by sacrifice.

C HRIST was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.--He is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, . . . they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.

      Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am.--Then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven.--If any of thine be driven out unto the outmost parts of heaven, from thence will the LORD thy God gather thee, and from thence will he fetch thee.

      The dead in Christ shall rise first: then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

PSA. 50. 5. He. 9. 28, 15.
John. 17. 24.--Mar. 13. 27.--De. 30. 4.
1 Th. 4. 16, 17.
