The electronic edition of Philip Mauro's Evolution at the Bar has been produced from a copy of the printed text published by Reiner Publications (Swengel, PA: 1976). This pamphlet was first published by Hamilton Brothers in Boston, MA, in 1922, and went through at least five printings. No copyright notice appears in the Reiner issue; however, it is a lithographic reprint of the first edition, first printing, bearing the copyright notice, "Copyright 1922 by Hamilton Bros." The second and successive printings include the following not found in the first: (1) A "Preface to the Second Edition"; (2) an additional four-sentence paragraph at the end of the section "Evolution in Human Affairs" in Chapter VIII (page 76); and (3) different pagination of pages 76 through 80. In the Foreword, Mauro notes that this pamphlet was "originally prepared for use in the compilation of a Bible Cyclopedia by the Bible Union of China."

      Pagination in the electronic version has been represented by placing the page number in brackets following the last complete word on the printed page. Inconsistencies in spelling, capitalization, punctuation, and typography have been retained; however, corrections for misspellings and other accidental corruptions have been offered. Emendations are as follows:
