ABOUT THE ELECTRONIC EDITION.

      The electronic edition of Dwight E. Stevenson's Walter Scott: Voice of the Golden Oracle has been produced from a copy of the printed text published by Christian Board of Publication (St. Louis, MO: 1946). Since no copyright renewal application was filed in 1974, the book is not covered by the Copyright Renewal Act of 1992, which automatically extends the term for works published between 1964 and 1977. It passed into the public domain in 1975. In 1980 College Press (Joplin, MO) issued a facsimile reprint of the biography, with no copyright notice.

      Pagination in the electronic version has been represented by placing the page number in brackets following the last complete word on the printed page. Inconsistencies in spelling, capitalization, punctuation, and typography have been retained; however, corrections have been offered for misspellings and other accidental corruptions.
