Mr. Boyer resided on a farm all his life in the county of his birth. However, for a long period he was an active but a conservative and useful minister, chiefly in Edgar, Coles and Clark Counties. His financial compensation for his ministerial labors was always small. He was the father of Min. T. A. Taylor and Prof. E. E. Boyer, of Eureka College.
