Mr. Cory attended the Baptist College at Franklin, Indiana, and Oskaloosa College, Iowa. He was a lay preacher in the Methodist Church before uniting with the Christian Church in 1857. Besides holding a great number of meetings in Illinois, he served the churches at Monmouth, Virginia, Mt. Sterling, Barry, Colchester and Augusta. He has been a faithful preacher of the word of God and his ministry has always been constructive. Between four and five thousand people were added to the church in Illinois by his labors.
