Grew up on farm. Attended public schools. Began preaching about 1863. He has served the churches at Illiopolis, Harristown, Normal, Buffalo, Hartsburg and Lexington, Mo. Besides, much miscellaneous Christian work. He has been a genial man of fine humor and wit and always devoted to the truth. He is the father of Min. W. S. Goode, of Ohio.
