Born: York County, Pa., 1813.
Died: Illinois, 1889.

Mr. Heape's family moved to Ohio in 1816. He was baptized there in 1832 by Wm. Dowling. He came to Perry County, Ill., about 1835. Soon he was chosen as an elder of a congregation near Duquoin. In the discharge of his Scriptural duties he was soon led into the work of the ministry. In his experience he had the privations and the joys of a pioneer preacher. From 1847 to 1855 he was employed by a Co-operation of Christian Churches in southern Illinois.
