Born: Illinois, about 1831.
Died: Illinois, 1907.

Began to preach at the age of eighteen years. Educational opportunities were limited, but he grew into the use of pure and forceful language. His field of labor was limited to Pike, Calhoun, Green and Macoupin Counties, but he did considerable work in Missouri. In his revivals he laid the beginning of many churches. He was a man of high ideals, candid and devoted to truth and duty. His industrious habits were well known. When not preaching, he was engaged in manual labor. For fifty-five years he proclaimed the glad tidings to his fellow-men.
