REV. JOHN C. FLEMING.

R EV. JOHN C. FLEMING was born in 1839, and died January 31, 1876, in the thirty-sixth year of his age. He was admitted into the Central Valley Virginia Conference, in 1879, as a licentiate. Having proved himself [370] a worthy workman, he was ordained a member of the the Conference in 1872. At this time Elder Kibler was president of the Conference and Elder Tamkin secretary.

He was one of the most promising members of the Conference, and was ardently devoted to the work of the ministry. Studious in preparation, patient in duty, faithful in principle, and increasing in usefulness, he was above all a true disciple of the divine Master, a humble Christian, and one who understood the lesson of divine truth and delighted in telling the story of the cross.
