The electronic edition of Robert H. Boll's The Kingdom of God: A Survey Study of The Bible's Principal Theme, has been produced from a copy of the Second Edition (Louisville, KY: The Word and Work, [1932]).

      With few exceptions, Boll chose not to date or to designate editions and printings of his publications issued by Word and Work. Three editions of The Kingdom of God were published during Boll's lifetime. An advertisement in Word and Work, December 1923, describes the first edition as "80 pages, large clear type, on good quality egg-shell paper, in a handsome blue cover of Paradox cover-stock." An advertisement in Word and Work, October 1932, describes the second edition as "84 pages, large clear type, on beautiful unglazed paper." Advertisements for this edition continued until November 1944. An advertisement in Word and Work, August 1948, describes the third edition as "printed in baskerville type in the page size of Lessons on Hebrews and The Revelation and "164 pages." This edition was issued in two bindings: "Green cloth edition" and "Coral Red leatherette paper."

      Pagination in the electronic version has been represented by placing the page number in brackets following the last complete word on the printed page. In the printed text, footnotes are indicated by printer's devices (asterisks, daggers, etc.); in the electronic text, they are treated as sequentially numbered endnotes. Additional editorial notes for the online version are lettered and signed. Inconsistencies in spelling, capitalization, punctuation, and typography have been retained; however, corrections have been offered for misspellings and other accidental corruptions.
