There are backsliders and backsliders. The one class are wholly out and do not come to the meetings any more; the other class still attend. My brother, if you are not toward God what you once were; if there is not the same light and life and joy and zeal and earnestness in your life that you once had, then you have backslidden. Haste, stay not; return unto God, and he will have mercy upon you and will abundantly pardon. "Return, thou backsliding Israel, saith Jehovah: I will not look in anger upon you; for I am merciful." (Jer. 3:12.)
