and in reverent memory of |
the early pioneers of our faith recorded here, |
and of countless successors who have toiled at churchly tasks |
with unflagging faithfulness, |
for the glory of Christ and the ongoing of His cause, |
this book is Dedicated. |
Humanly they wrought, yet with prophetic vision |
of a far-off day, when, as living stones |
growing into a habitation for God through the Spirit, |
they might exhibit to a divided Church of Christ |
the divine unity of a world Brotherhood-- |
at last testifying to the 'oneness' of all His followers-- |
that for which he prayed and strove-- |
and which once sufficed the Master |
as he shared our human ways. |
