The first is a picture of the
"old" Mars Hill church building in Florence, AL. T. B. Larimore
often preached in this building. As a 15 yr old lad, I attended mid-week
services with my parents, sister, and brother at this location. After services,
the young people would stand in the front yard and sing while the adults
visited. A new, modern building was constructed probably 30-40 yrs
ago, which now accommodates the assemblies of the Mars Hill church.
The other two are of the home of T. B.
Larimore where he conducted his Mars Hill Academy, and which, beginning in
1947, became the main building of Mars Hill Bible School. It was
here that I graduated from high school in 1955. MHBS now has a large,
modern campus. The Larimore Home stands at the northeast corner of the
campus.
The pictures were sent to me by
Larry Whitehead of Birmingham, editor of the Alabama Restoration Journal. They were taken by Frank Richey
