Canada Meeting
Through kindness of brethren meeting at North Annex, in Regina,
capital of the province of Saskatchewan, I was privileged to
present my views on current issues in that city during February.
Arrangements were made for use of a public hall for five
meetings, and a school auditorium for one. During two sessions I
shared time equally with Bro. J. C. Bailey, of Carman, Manitoba,
in discussion of "Institutionalism" and "The Work of an
Evangelist." Each of us set forth his views for 30 minutes then
submitted to questions for a like period. Bro. Bailey proved
himself a gentleman as well as a scholar. He contributed much to
the meetings by his gracious spirit so we differed as brethren
and not as enemies. On Lord's Day afternoon, Bro. Cecil Bailey,
principal of Radville Christian College, divided time with me on
"Mutual Ministry and One-Man Ministry." Like his brother, he
demonstrated a genial disposition, and the discussions were kept
on a very high plane. On that morning I worshipped with the
North Annex congregation and some five or six brethren spoke to
edification. In the evening I met with the Retallack Street
congregation, after which the brethren from both places assembled
to hear my final presentation. Despite snow and temperatures
reaching 20 degrees below zero, the meetings were well attended,
and I am especially indebted to North Annex brethren for making
them possible.
