Money plays a big and dramatic role in the "preaching" done these
days! It is probable that in some places there are more "sermons" on giving than on living. It is
true that "money isn't everything in the world" but it is fast becoming the principal thing in the
church. In many places it is not so much what you have in your heart as what you put in the
collection basket that determines your Christian status. Paul did not labor with his mouth to tell
people how to give; he labored with his hands to show them how. Preachers today are long on
the know-how and short on the show-how! Members who are too engrossed with making money
to serve God have found they can hire someone to do it.
