C. R. Turner conducted a series of meetings with the Nixa (Mo.) congregation in September.... The editor will conduct a series of meetings at Beech Grove (Ark.) starting Nov.16.... One immersed and one restored at Farmington (New Mexico) where the congregation is growing rapidly.... Thomas Dennis tells us the Mount Ayr (Iowa) congregation has moved into their new meetinghouse 3 blocks east of the northeast corner of the city square. Bro. C. R. Turner held a meeting there, which closed Oct. 10.... Carlton Melling spoke at Tunbridge Wells, Kent (England) while attending a conference of librarians at Brighton.... Darrell Bolin immersed a young man at Lock Haven (Penn.) Sept. 17. He has recently completed work with Bridgeport (Conn.) brethren.... Ellis Crum now lives at Kendallville (Ind.) and may be addressed there at Box 222.... The Fourth Street congregation, Brookport (Ill.) will have a meeting until midnight on New Year's Eve.... E. M. Zerr has just concluded his annual study with the congregation at Martinsville (Ind.).... W. Carl Ketcherside spoke three nights at Bismarck (Mo.) where the brethren now meet in their new basement building.... Jim Mabery has just concluded a tent meeting at Valley Park (Mo.).... Two more immersed at Webster Groves (Mo.).... Wilford Landes reports one immersed at Liberty congregation, and informs us he will be at Stull and Gardner (Kans.) in October and November.... Albert Winstanley reports a meeting of one week at Old Hunstanton, Norfolk, England,, and further informs us that elders and deacons have been ordained at Scholes, Wigan, in Yorkshire.... L. E. Ketcherside became the victim of a heat stroke while working on the meetinghouse at Bismarck (Mo.) and will have to forego manual labor for awhile.... W. Carl Ketcherside, Leroy Garrett, Roscoe C. Kent, and Otis Wasson, met in three panel discussions at Woodriver (Ill.) High School auditorium, Oct. 3 and 4. Mr. Kent is from Milwaukee (Wisconsin); Mr. Wasson from Evansville (Indiana). They represent the Berean Bible Church. The subject was "The nature of the N.T. church and the relationship of water baptism to it."... We are saddened to report the death of Bro. L. Thomason, Kennett (Mo.) on.... The congregation at 2907 Dean Avenue, Des Moines (Iowa) will sponsor a meeting for young people in the early part of next April. Further information will be furnished later.... We are saddened by the report of the death of Bob Eslick, 31, as the result of heart attack, on October. Bob lived at Oklahoma City, and will be remembered by many at the Nowata meeting.... Bro. and Sister Victor A. Blake, Carmichael (Calif.) have a baby girl, Beverly Gail, born.... Bro. Roy Loney reports a visit to Beloit and North Lawrence (Kansas) followed by work at Nixa (Mo.) and a two weeks meeting at Light (Ark.).... C. R. Turner has recently closed a meeting at Kirksville (Mo.)... One of the most significant works which we have read in recent years is "Studies in the Original Christian Baptism" by Johannes Warns. The author was a member of the Reformed Church in Germany, and his work has only recently been translated into English. It is a powerful testimony to immersion and believer's baptism. We can send you one for $3.95, and believe me, it is worth every cent of it.... Hershel Ottwell was at Sullivan (Ill.) Sept.21, and at Sullivan (Ind.) with the congregation meeting at 602 North Court Street, Sept.27, 28. He will be in a meeting at Nowata (Okla.) Nov. 9 - 21.... Brethren at Streator (Ill.) will have an all day meeting, Nov. 9, at their new location, 107 East Bridge.... Jim Mabery immersed a young Catholic married man at Webster Groves, Oct. 12, the eighth person immersed there in six weeks. John Wash and Bessie McCracken were married at Sullivan (Ill.) Oct. 4, and will make their home at Anderson (Ind.)... About 15 preachers of the Christian Church and churches of Christ met at Pana (Ill.) on Oct. 4 to spend the day in discussion of differences with the hope of eliminating existing barriers. Another such occasion is planned soon.... Jim Mabery began a meeting with Unionville (Mo.) brethren on October 19.... The all day meeting at Bloomington (Ill.) broke their attendance record. Speakers were Virgil Staples, Burl Price, Bernie Crum, John Fleener, Hershel Ottwell, Norman Hawbaker and Harold Shasteen. W. C. Conrad, Ypsilanti (Mich.) was much pleased with the October issue, and hopes the brethren who favor restoration of the N. T. church will keep up the fight until all the church will understand the real issues that cause division and disturbance.... We need your renewal and other subscribers.
