     Due to meetings and long hours spent in hospital visitation, comforting the sick and dying, I was unable to work on the wrapping and mailing of the paper last month, so the whole burden fell upon Nell, who did a very excellent job.... Roy Loney wants you to know that the article on "Instrumental Music" which I mentioned in the November issue, was written by him at my request. He still has copies of the thesis, which you can obtain by sending a stamp to his home address at 927 Louisiana St., Lawrence, Kansas.... Victor and Gloria Richards, El Paso (Texas) have a boy, Chris Alan, born Nov. 7.... Jerry Reece conducted a meeting at Martinstown (Mo.) last month, during which two were added to the congregation.... William Hensley closed a meeting at Bethlehem, near Corydon (Iowa) on November 28.... C. R. Turner closed a meeting of one week duration at Milan (Mo.) on Nov. 30.... Joe Clay spoke at Kirsksville (Mo.) on the morning of Nov. 30.... Lloyd Riggins closed two weeks of labor at Oakland (Calif.) Nov. 30.... The series of meetings conducted by the editor at Beech Grove (Ark.) attracted capacity audiences the last week. Lester Stevens, of St. Louis, assisted.... Brethren at Farmington (N. Mex.) held their last Sunday afternoon singing of the year, on Dec. 14.... The young peoples' meeting arranged by the Overland (Mo.) congregation was very interesting, although the first big snow of the season hindered attendance.... Brethren are trying to arrange for Ray Duffey to labor at Bismarck (Mo.) since the death of L. E. Ketcherside.... Jim Mabery and the brethren at Webster Groves (Mo.) are seeking to plant another congregation in the area.... Leroy Garrett, as editor, and Clinton Evans, as publisher, will soon have out the first edition of Restoration Review, a quarterly publication.... Roy Loney recently spoke at Independence (Mo.) and also at Bogard (Mo.).... The little four year old son of Don and Maxine Henwood, Sullivan (Ill.) died on December 4, as a result of brain tumor.... Albert Winstanley was with brethren at Kirkby-in-Ashfield one weekend in November, and has recently visited at Ilkeston (England).... Alzada Hart, of Oak Hill Chapel, St. Louis (Mo.) underwent serious surgery at Jewish Hospital.... Lynn Kinnamon and Winford Lentz were appointed as deacons at Lillian Avenue church, in St. Louis.... There will be a two weeks study of the Bible conducted at 5906 Kenwood Ave. (Kansas City), by Jim Mabery, in the month of June.... The Springfield (Mo.) young people's meeting will be held March 28, 29.... Burl Deem reports a congregation of 12 with whom he is laboring in Palestine (Ill.) and states he has recently immersed two.... Don Neff immersed Ed Alexander at Bismarck (Mo.).... We commend the congregation at Farmington (Mo.) for taking care of the entire cost of the furnace installed at Bismarck.... Hershel Ottwell spent a week in special studies at Louisiana (Mo.) closing December 13.... The South Gate (Calif.) congregation began meeting in their new building on December 7.... One added by membership transfer at Compton (Calif.) recently.... M. S. Whitehead, who is chief steward at the State Prison, Atmore (Alabama) says we are opening up new horizons in a Christian attitude that embraces more than he ever dreamed of before. We like his statement, "I am not swallowing your teaching blindly, but studying and examining every step." That is the correct attitude for every lover of truth.... Roger and Nancy (Fleener) Summors, Benton (Ill.) have a baby girl, Deborah Lynn, born Nov. 4.... Have you ordered a copy of Self-Interpreting New Testament, by Ashley S. Johnson? raise funds to purchase a wheel chair for an aged and helpless sister in Florida, and the brethren meeting on East Gordon Street, Valdosta (Georgia) sent a check for the whole amount. We thank God and take courage at such exhibitions of Christian love.... There is a little lad in St. Louis Children's Hospital, Charles Orris. Last Christmas he was here for polio. This last July he fell into the fire, and has been here ever since cruelly burned. I have visited him often. A few days ago, when his parents came to the city to visit him, I asked what we could do. They asked me if I could get a barber to come and cut his hair, as regular barbers wanted $2.50 for a hospital visit. Vern Atwell, of Webster Groves congregation, vice president of the Barber's local went and took care of it. It is little things like this that show people care. By the way, the Orris family have two other children stricken by polio, and the father has heart trouble. They are members of the Baptist faith. You could send them a little note by addressing Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Orris, Route 1, Roodhouse (Ill.).... Mr. and Mrs. James Fritzpatrick, Star Rte., Palmyra (Mo.), a real young couple, have a little 18 months old girl, Deborah. This little baby already has one artificial eye, and now the other eye has cancer. The parents are Baptists. Why not write them and let them know you care? Just tell any of these that Bro. Ketcherside told you about them. They will understand, and it could be you'll give them new faith and courage.... Would it be too much to ask you to send cards to a wonderful colored woman who is the mother of eight children, and who recently underwent surgery for cancer? The address is Mrs. Jennie Tweed, 2711 St. Louis Avenue, East St. Louis (Ill.) and Mrs. Tweed is a member of the Pentecostal faith. We have visited and prayed together, and it would help if you would remember her just now.... Bill and Alice Karkosky, Anderson (Ind.) have a new baby boy, William Brent, born Nov. 29.... There were 129 present for worship at Farmington (N. Mex.) December 11, and the brethren there are actively taking the gospel to the lost.... Carl Painter and Dorothy Moyers were married at Fredericktown (Mo.) December 20.... The editor spoke at Farmington (Mo.) Dec. 21.... Brethren at Bridgeport (Conn.) have purchased the meetinghouse of the Christian Science group, for $31,000 and this will provide them seating capacity of about 300.... Darrell Bolin, 134 Susquehanna Ave., Lock Haven, Pennsylvania, still owes about $250 on the multigraph machine which we mentioned. Since he is to use this in the work of the Lord, could you not help him retire the debt?... Bro. Bolin reports a crowd of 53 at the young peoples meeting in Snowshoe (Penn.) and tells us he will be at New Liberty, near Windsor (Ill.) in February.... We regret to report that Don Fritz, one of the elders at 5906 Kenwood, Kansas City (Mo.) has contracted a heart condition which will require complete rest for some time.... Richard Hollinger reports 15 immersed, and 6 restored since the congregations at Wauneta (Neb.) were united a little more than 2 years ago.... Send a list of subscribers if possible!
