I am going to quote from a recent letter to me from a very good brother, whom I have never met, but who often writes to me. "I like your articles very much, but do not like Carl's remarks about them. Looks silly to my way of thinking." This is only one of many similar letters I receive. -Roy Loney (Kansas).
I really enjoy the paper. I came to the conclusions that are causing you trouble more than twenty-five years ago... I go with you exactly on fellowship, confession, prayer in Jesus' name, name of the church, and many of these things... I like your editorials. You have a keen insight. I was glad the Christian Standard saw fit to copy a couple of your essays. --Lee Carter Maynard (Illinois).
I want to distribute a bundle of 25 papers monthly, but would like to know before I start, if you are going to allow our own brethren to debate you in the paper. I do not want to appear as telling you how to run your paper, but personally do not see that much good will be accomplished if I send the paper to someone I expect to convert and they see we are debating amongst ourselves... I enjoy hearing both sides myself. --W. G. Fulmer (Florida).
Keep my subscription to the mission Messenger current. I do not want to miss the good food contained therein. --Hal Watkins (Alaska).
We do not intend offence to any one by expressing our opinions whether true or otherwise, but I am satisfied that most troubles in the religious world are due to wrong education. When people are taught a thing is right, even though contrary to God's Word, that is mostly what they stick by, and honestly think they are right. --Val Males (Australia).
The work that is done among the sick and needy will often accomplish more than all the sermons that are preached. The love we bear for each other is the hallmark of our Christianity, and when we practice a little more of that we draw nearer to the Lord. -Mary Hendren (North Ireland).
