The Other Side of Rome. John B. Wilder. Zondervan Publishing House, Grand Rapids, Michigan. 160 pages. $2.50.

The author, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, Harlingen, Texas, has written a book of information, which provides facts about Catholicism past and present, and about its future aims. It is not rabid or bitter, but it is plain and forthright, and is well documented. There are eleven chapters, each one of which will be read with interest.

Beneath the Cross of Jesus. Reginald E. O. Mhite. William B. Eerdmans Publishing House, Grand Rapids, Michigan. 159 pages. $3.00.

Mr. White is a Baptist preacher in Great Britain. He divides this book into the following sections: Paradoxes that Provoke Reflection; Achievements that Belie Defeat; Interpretations that Engender Faith; Implications that Determine Character; and Considerations that Enrich Devotion. In these meditations about the cross he uses excellent illustrations, and guides the reader into avenues of meditation and self-examination. The titles of special divisions, as well as the subject-matter, will inspire you to deeper thought about the Supreme Sacrifice.

Woman to Woman. Eugenia Price. Zondervan Publishing House. 241 pages. $2.95.

The theme of this book is the difference that is made in the life of a woman when that life is Christ-controlled. The author, a former script writer for both CBS and NBC radio networks, has a knack for putting things in simple language, and she likes to write to and about women, for as she puts it, "Being one, we have always interested me." The first chapter deals with disposition, the last with death, and the difference Christ makes in both. Between these two, about every other phase of the life of woman is covered in a practical and provocative fashion.
