Your article "Church of Christ Party" is one of the most tremendous presentations I have had the privilege of reading. Your point that the "movement" has stagnated into a sect by ignoring the necessity of movement is a duplication of my feelings. Being non-sectarian is something which demands constant effort; just as resistance against any of the sins of the flesh demands vigilance and effort. Sectarianism is an attitude of the heart and mind, regardless of structural considerations either positively or negatively. Saskatchewan

I have been thrilling with your recent issues of the Messenger. I have held the position you now hold for some ten years and have had time enough to prove how well it works and how challenging to denominational people. It does me good to know that another has taken the stand on such a basis. South Dakota

I have come in contact with your powerful paper, which is well written and to the point This I appreciate. The nature and subject content of each paper is the kind of writing we need in this day and age when we have so many cliques, clans and parties. It is no wonder the world is in its present shape.      I want to commend you for your spirit and approach. You are doing a good work, to say the least. May you continue to receive the power that sustains one under such trying circumstances. Oklahoma

I deeply appreciate the purpose of the paper. I pray we may have the attitude of Christ toward all our "brothers in Him." I do hope that men will realize that for a church to be the church of Christ it must not only be a clean church but a merciful church. Sometimes men in the so-called restoration movement have insisted on a clean church, but failed to insist on a merciful church. I believe that your paper will make men think and examine their attitude toward each other. Illinois

Thank you for sending copies of the Mission Messenger, which I have found very interesting. What I have read so far concerning your position has been, to me, very appealing. And my feelings would compel me to take this same stand as yourself, but my faith would not. Since we are to walk by faith and not by feeling, I will have to be careful, and not accept what you teach without question and investigation. I have given my life to Christ, so it is important that this life is lived according to His will. Australia

My heart and soul rejoices as I read your articles in Mission Messenger. In these I believe I have seen and witnessed the growth of a child of God into manhood and maturity in the deep things of God. The spirit and affection with which you write has been a great encouragement to me. Many things I have seen through your mind that enabled me to better understand why some situations are as they are, and to better understand the word and Spirit of our Lord. As I read your last article on legalism I rejoiced in your clear cut portrayal of the "legalistic mind." Also your clear identification of the Spirit and the word (the Bible). I have always maintained that the word of God (the message of God as revealed) is the instrument or sword of the Spirit, and not the Spirit himself....We are to love one another. How easy it would be to close the door in the face of opposing factions (although most all are sincere in their belief and convictions), and set ourselves up as the model of the right and only church (meaning, our group, i.e., those who think and act as we think and act). God forgive us for even harboring such thoughts. Saskotchewan

I have just read your August Mission Messenger, which is the first issue I have read. I have this to say, "Hallelujah!" Your article on legalism was excellent. The article "Cause for Concern" saddened me deeply. The divisions of the Restoration Movement constitutes the greatest of sins today. Illinois

I think your approach to unity is the only sensible thing that is being put out in our time. I am not so much concerned about unity with the sects as I am about our own groups, and the members of the local church having unity. God bless you, I am getting lots of good from the paper. Colorado
