     A brother in the south writes to ask if we know of any scripture that would justify supporting institutional homes from the church budget. We have not gotten that far yet. We are still looking for the "church budget" in the scriptures.... C. R. Turner conducted a study on the government and discipline of the church at Bolivar, Pennsylvania.... Albert Winstanley began a special effort with the Kentish Town congregation in London, England, October 8, to continue for one month.... Darrell Bolin was scheduled for a meeting at Arthur, Illinois, with a brief stop at Champaign en-route.... Bernie Crum performed the wedding ceremony for Charles L. Parker and Velma Kate Hemry at Lyons, Indiana, October 18.... Hershel Ottwell will be with Granite City, Illinois, November 13-18, Reeds Station, Illinois, November 20-25; and Bridge, near Dexter, Missouri, November 27-December 9.... The third in the series of Saturday studies, will be held at Hartford, Illinois, December 17, the theme being "The Biography of Jesus of Nazareth." These studies begin at 9:30 A. M. and close at 3:00 P. M., with the sisters of the congregation serving luncheon at noon.... Dale and Della Acree, Fairfield, California, have a daughter, Cindy, Born October 9.... Roy Loney spoke for the brethren at Compton, California, October 30.... W. Carl Ketcherside was with the brethren at Beech Grove, Arkansas, November 13-22. We are saddened by the death of Virgil Vogel, Pipestone, Minnesota, on October 17.... We suggest that you send five dollars for the one volume edition of Johnson's People's New Testament with Notes. You will like it a great deal.... The congregation at Hammond, Illinois deserves commendation for helping to support Paul Osborne, who is working with John Fleener, and preparing for more effective labor in the Master's field.... Borden Higginbotham began a two week meeting at North Water Street, Decatur, Illinois, November 6. Brethren there immersed three recently.... Albert Winstanley recently immersed a woman who had returned from Africa due to the recent uprisings, and who will be associated with the brethren in London, England.... Jerry Reece has moved to Unionville, Missouri. He recently conducted a meeting at Bethany, Missouri, and started another at Martinstown, November 6.... We can furnish you a copy of the large new "History of the Church through the Ages" by Robert Brumback, for $5.00.... Roy Loney spoke at Compton, California, on October 30; and on the same day Lloyd Riggins was with the Reedley congregation.... W. Carl Ketcherside spoke twice at Powell, and once at Cody, Wyoming, on a trip to that area to plan the Bible study to be held next June. Enthusiastic plans are being made for a fruitful season of fellowship and investigation of the sacred oracles. You are invited to attend.... Paul McFarland and A. C. Warren were the speakers at Farmington, New Mexico, at the morning and night services, October 23.... John and Lynda Buckles, Valdosta, Georgia, have a little girl, Cynthia Lynn, born October 27.... Edward Lewis, 2825 West 34th Avenue, Denver 11, Colorado, has prepared an article entitled "Have We Ritualized the Lord's Supper?" He will mail up to 24 copies of this free to any place in the world requesting it. We suggest that you write him for a copy, and then you may secure additional copies if you'd like to aid in their distribution.... Harold Baines and Lavinia Chappin, were united in marriage at the Kentish Town, London, meetinghouse, August 27. Readers of this paper will recall that Brother Baines has been a contributor of articles in past years.... Joe Nisbet and Leonard Morgan were speakers at the annual social meeting of the Newtongrange congregation in Scotland, October 8.... Speakers at the anniversary meeting of the congregation at East Ardsley, Yorkshire, England, October 29, 30 were W. S. Bradley, F. C. Day, and Robert McDonald..... Harvey Stiltner reports that the attendance at the Willow Run congregation, Ypsilanti, Michigan, shows an increase.... Bernie Crum will be working under auspices of the Flat River, Missouri congregation, having moved there from Bicknell, Indiana.... Students who expect to attend the Bible study in Valdosta, Georgia, during the Christmas vacation should write for information and reservations to J. R. Jordan Wen writes that the need in Formosa is again becoming acute, and the native brethren are making tremendous sacrifices to take the word to remote areas. Free China is a critical area in the world picture now. The Kendallville, Indiana, congregation which sponsors the vacation study at Arrowhead of Ball Lake, has set the date for the 1961 meetings from August 6-27. Those in the teen age group will be pleased to learn of two new hooks, "Confidentially, Fellows!" and "Confidentially, Girls!" which have just been released. These deal with most of the problems that trouble young people. There are helpful suggestions on manners, building good habits, dating, relationship to parents, and making proper life choices. The books are only $1.25 each and they are good. We urge parents to secure these for their young people.... We have a report from Ellis Crum that 11 congregations were represented in the attendance at his meeting in Wakenda, Missouri, which closed November 11.
