A New Year

[Page 12]
With this issue we begin another year of publication, our twenty-third. Despite the high cost of printing and mailing, which approximated $3500 during 1960, all debts relating to publication have been paid, and we start 1961 with a clear slate. We have never taken one cent from the paper for our personal use. The subscriptions have never paid for the cost of publication, and we are solvent only because of the interest of fellowlaborers in the crusade. A few have sent small sums each month, and these have enabled us to keep our heads above water. Such dedicated men and women, who back their faith by their works, will gain recognition far above our poor power to bestow, even if we were to publish their names. The paper reached the largest circulation in its history with the October issue.

We have hundreds of names, sent in by preachers and others, at home and abroad, which should be added to our list. We include them as funds become available. We send to several hundred brethren in various foreign countries who cannot forward money because of currency restrictions. The cost of their subscriptions is borne from here. Many of them have received the paper for more than fourteen years. Ours is purely a work of faith -- faith in God and in the growing fellowship of the concerned ones, scattered through the various factions.

While there are some who would rejoice if we failed and would hail our demise as an act of providence, there are hundreds of others who are praying for us and our all too feeble effort. For all such we give grateful thanks unto God, and for their assistance, financial and otherwise, we are appreciative beyond words to express. As you contemplate the new year, and how you shall order your affairs to best serve the Master during these twelve months, if you can find it within your heart and personal budget to share in the increasing costs of this crusade, your contributions will make it possible for many others to have access to our plea for a better day and a brighter world. Meanwhile the subscription rate will remain at one dollar per year! We do not doubt but what, if it be God's will for us to plead for unity of all believers upon the basis of a restoration of the ancient order, the work will be financed by His servants whose hearts are tendered by the indwelling Spirit!
