Another Year
With this issue we are launched into our twenty-fourth year of
publication of Mission Messenger. Although it now costs some $4000.00 per year to print and
distribute the paper we close the passing year with all debts paid. This is due not so much to an
increase in subscriptions (although our circulation has increased to its highest level) but to the
willingness of brethren to share regularly in the crusade in which we are engaged. There are a
few who send each month to bear the burden with us. They believe in the thing that we are trying
to do and they are unwilling to allow us to stagger under the heavy load without lending a hand.
To them we are indebted beyond our power to express. No one ever receives a cent from the
paper for work done in connection with it. In twenty-three years Nell and myself have
scrupulously avoided, even when in need, taking anything from the subscription fund for our
own use. Every penny has gone toward printing and mailing the message which now reaches
many countries.
Great things are planned for 1962 and we trust that you will help us share
them with others by sending in a list of subscribers at once. The subscription list could be
increased in every community if just one person in each community really cared enough to
encourage it consistently. The price will remain at $1.00 per year. Should you care to have extra
copies of this issue you may secure them at the rate of ten for one dollar. Why not secure them
and share them with your brethren?
