The annual encampment of brethren from the prairie provinces in Canada, held near Outlook, Saskatchewan, came to an end on Sunday evening, July 29, around the dying embers of a campfire. Teachers this year were J. C. Bailey, Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan; Edward Benoit, Nanton, Alberta; Magnar Knutson, Oslo, Norway; and W. Carl Ketcherside, St. Louis, Missouri. Those in attendance represented most of the segments of the restoration movement in the area, but there was not a single untoward incident to mar the spirit of fellowship. Paul Tromburg presided over all of the meetings.... We deeply regret to report the death of our sister in Christ, Mrs. Robert Brumback, at Kansas City, Missouri, August 3.... Gordon Click reports an encouraging meeting at Eddy, Alabama, with Hershel Ottwell; and a good series of studies at Grassy, near Arab, Alabama, conducted by Leroy Garrett.... It is his intention to labor in the southwest in an attempt to promote the spirit of restoration. He will need your financial assistance. For details address him at P.O. Box 622, Cody, Wyoming.... a desire to find a preaching brother to labor with them who is a truth seeker, good at personal work, willing to share the speaking program with other able men, and who has the right attitude toward those who disagree with him, either saints or aliens. They state that the entire congregation has the restoration attitude and they are interested in supporting a man who will read and study the type of approach being made in MISSION MESSENGER. If you are interested we will put you in touch with these brethren..... We commend the editor of Firm Foundation for publishing the articles by F. L. Lemley, Arvada, Colorado, and James H. Murphy, Englewood, Colorado, both dealing with the subject of unity among the believers. It is evident that the crusade for scriptural fellowship without sacrifice of truth or principle is growing and such articles as these will help to promote a better day for the saints of God. We have been betrayed into establishing orthodoxy instead of the gospel as our basis of oneness and until we rectify this error we will continue to promote the sectarian spirit.... Leroy Garrett will perform the ceremony uniting Stanley Carpenter and Dorothy Ann Harvey, at Milton, Massachusetts, September 8.... After conducting successful meetings at Mattoon and Arthur, Illinois, Bob Duncan began a series at Holliday, on August 12. Brethren at James River Chapel, south of Springfield, Missouri, expect to secure delivery of their seats in mid-September and 10 begin in their new meetinghouse about October 7.... Again we urge you to read this issue carefully and if you feel that it should be shared with others, send for ten additional copies and distribute them.
