Bertrand Smith, Valparaiso, Chile, writes that he has been blessed by reading our book "Thoughts on Fellowship" and we rejoice at that fact. He is doing mission work in that country.... Hershel Ottwell immersed four into our Lord during his meeting at Eddy, near Arab, Alabama.... The meeting for young people at Sullivan, Illinois, was well attended and produced some interesting sessions.... Darrell Bolin reports that following the Dallas, Texas, meeting he spoke in Odessa, Texas; Farmington, New Mexico; Chillicothe, Missouri; and Hammond and Arthur, Illinois.... Buff Scott is now laboring with the brethren in the vicinity of Bridgeport, Connecticut.... David DeVol of Kansas City, Missouri, underwent surgery at Frisco Hospital in Saint Louis, and made satisfactory recovery.... Funeral services were conducted August 31 at Sullivan, Illinois, for Timmie Noland, six weeks old son of Lawrence and Lavica Noland, Macon, Illinois, who died in Saint Louis Children's Hospital.... Albert Winstanley was with brethren at Newtongrange, Scotland, for ten days.... Tom McDonald was scheduled to be the speaker at the anniversary meeting of the congregation in Kentish Town, London, England, on Saturday, October 5.... William and Ann Kimzey, Tullaboma, Tennessee, have a son, Martin Douglas, born July 27.... Paul Krasnesky and Marcheta Kimzey were married in Saint Louis, August 9.... If you have not yet sent for your copy of "Covenants of God" which contains all of the MISSION MESSENGER for 1959-1960 in one bound volume of 384 pages, we would like to send you one. The cost is $3.50 per copy.... Speaking of books reminds us that we will soon be sending to all of our subscribers a book list containing recommended titles for gifts. Look for yours. This is another reason for remaining on the active subscription list.... James Graddy, James Mabery, Harold Key and the editor joined in conducting a series of meetings with the Lillian Avenue congregation, Saint Louis, September 15-22. A similar meeting is scheduled with brethren at Fenton, Missouri, October 13-20.... Fred Killebrew, Senath, Missouri, seems to have made satisfactory recovery after a serious automobile collision at Poplar Bluff, Missouri. We are sure that he could use financial assistance in this emergency.... A special Thanksgiving holiday Bible study will be conducted for teen-age young people at Flat River, Missouri, starting Thursday night, November 28 and continuing through Sunday, December 1. Among the faculty members will be Carl Painter, Assistant Dean of Flat River

Junior College; Clarence Cochran, Elementary Principal of Flat River Public Schools; Steve Hahn, Elementary Principal of Irondale Public Schools; Bernell Weems and Bernie Crum. Our brother in Christ, Dr. James DeForest Murch, will be the speaker at the 90th anniversary of First Christian Church, Blair, Nebraska, September 27-29, at which time he will present to Gail Dunning a lifetime membership in the Disciples of Christ Historical Society as a gift of the Blair congregation.... A Texas sister who is 83 years old and who resides in an old folks' home recently purchased from us a complete set of the Daily Study Bible Series, by William Barclay. She writes that these books have shed great light on the meaning of the new covenant Scriptures. There are 17 volumes in this set and they probably contain more informative background material than you could find anywhere else in the same space.... Our sister in the Lord, Nora Jarrett, who for many years unselfishly ministered to others, is now bedfast and very ill. She would so much appreciate a card or letter from those of you who care. A cheery card or note can brighten the whole day.... We rejoice to hear from our brother Paul Croy, Gallatin, Missouri, that he immersed his wife and daughter into Christ, on September 1.... A good brother writes from the east to ask if I have gone with the Christian Church. You need not worry! I shall not be identified with any party, segment, or fraction of the restoration brotherhood, because I want to be free to share with all of my brethren without reservation except love. I trust this will not disappoint my brethren in the Christian Church as much as it does those who are not in it.... We regret to report the death of Brother Leonard Beidel, 57, of Shippensburg, Pennsylvania, August 25.... The Pennsylvania state lectureship of the brethren which was conducted at Howard was well attended according to reports....
