     The Program Committee for the Seventh Assembly of the World Convention of Churches of Christ (Disciples) meeting in San Juan, Puerto Rico, August 9-15, 1965, has invited me to deliver an address during the session to be devoted to "The Authority of the Bible." The theme of the entire convention is "Jesus Christ is Lord." Although all who attend must bear their own expense and there is no one to sponsor my going, so anxious am I to rebuild the fallen lines of communication between the various segments of the restoration movement and to lend my own feeble witness to the dialogue of these days that I have accepted the invitation and will speak on the subject "Our Enduring Heritage" using Psalm 119:111 as the basis for my presentation. To my knowledge, this will be the first time that a brother from the non-instrument section of the disciple brotherhood has been asked to share in these meetings and I humbly solicit your prayers that I may conduct myself in such a manner that I may be among the peacemakers and entitled to be called a child of God.
