     Many of our readers know that Brother Vernon W. Hurst, who has spent much of his life working in difficult areas and with small, struggling congregations, has been gradually losing his sight, and must soon undergo eye surgery in order to be able to continue his work. The operation will be expensive. While saving toward this eventuality, Brother Hurst was stricken with another severe infection which required specialized treatment in Excelsior Springs, Missouri. It was necessary for him to borrow part of the money for this, as well as to use up the reserve for the other forthcoming surgery.
