Coming Meetings

[Page 78]

On April 19, the editor will speak at Bryn Mawr Christian Church, McKeesport, Pennsylvania. The meetings will begin at 3:30 p.m., and will feature two speeches during the afternoon and evening, at the annual convention of the Christian Evangelistic Society. The evening meal will be furnished by reservation only, due to limited space. For reservations contact F. Burton Doyle, 180 Center Avenue, Ernsworth, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania 15202.

A dialogue of great significance will be held at Calgary, Alberta, Canada, May 10-12 at the Minister's Institute. J. D. Thomas of Abilene Christian College; Seth Wilson of Ozark Bible College; and W. Carl Ketcherside, will each speak several times, submit to questions individually, and then sit down together for three joint panel sessions. Eight other men will bring papers on controversial passages in the sacred scriptures during the three days. The general theme will be "Principles and Practices of Hermeneutics" and the talks of the three principal speakers will explore how we arrive at different conclusions from the same passage of scripture. Because the attendance will be drawn from both the instrument and non-instrument wings of the restoration movement, Ketcherside has chosen as his first topic, "The Basis of Authority as Related to the Use of Instrumental Music in Corporate Worship." This will give an unparalleled opportunity for the thesis to be examined by questions from an interested audience, as well as from scholars of both sides on the panel.

***************
Other meetings of general interest at which the editor will be speaking are the School of Ministry, Milligan College, August 15-19; the Blue Ridge Clinic, Hillsvale, Virginia, August 26, 27; Mountain States Christian Men's Retreat, Blue-field, West Virginia, September 16, 17. College students will be thrilled with the College-Career Conference in Southern California, at which I will speak daily from September 5-9. A great many other speaking dates appear on the schedule for the rest of this year and mention will be made of some of them in later papers.
