It will be a pleasure to meet a number of our friends when I address the homecoming at Johnson Bible College, Kimberlin Heights, Tennessee, February 14-16.... I have agreed to speak at the annual banquet of the Student Christian Foundation which carries on a work for Christ on the University of Tennessee Campus. The banquet will be on the evening of February 16, and the theme will be "Commandoes for Christ."... Four were immersed into Christ in the meeting which we conducted at Beech Grove, Arkansas, where the crowds were excellent. We closed with a full house and good interest.... I will be speaking at the Second Annual Brush Arbor Meeting, Fairfield, North Carolina, June 24, 1967. This is an attempt to recapture and reproduce the background of the "Cane Ridge Revival" and last year there were hundreds in attendance from many parts of the east. It is estimated that the audiences this year will be even greater.... We urge all who live in the area to remember the meetings on fellowship and unity to be held at Columbia, Missouri, February 23, 24. The series will be held on Thursday night, Friday morning and afternoon at Westside Christian Church, and information may be secured by writing to Lowell E. McCoy, 1108 West Ash Street, Columbia, Missouri 65201. We will be privileged to speak at the banquet of the college-university class on Friday night.... It will be a privilege to teach at the Southern California Minister's Seminar at Edendale Camp, a spot in the hills a few miles southeast of Los Angeles, February 27, 28, March 1. My good fortune will be to be associated with James Earl Ladd of Puget Sound College of the Bible, and I will be presenting five lessons on the epistle to the Hebrews.... I will be back in California a couple of weeks later, but at a different place and on a different theme. The congregation of saints meeting at Gardena (14521 South Normandie) has arranged a series of meetings for high school and college youth during the daytime, and for the congregation at night, March 19-24. The studies will deal with how to make the gospel effective in a pagan culture, and will be inspirational in nature. Information can be secured from Gene Rogers, 14521 South Normandie, 90247.... We especially urge all of our friends and brethren in Kansas to share with us in a spiritual battery-charging program with the Riverside congregation meeting at Wichita, Kansas. Services will be held nightly March 6-10. Robert Meyers serves the congregation and information may be obtained by writing him at 867 Spaulding Street, Wichita, Kansas 67203. This meeting will be different and will feature discussions on how to get the saints out of their cement structures so they can become concrete servants for Christ.... Richard and Judy Hardman left Los Angeles on December 31 for mission work in Samoa. They still need some additional support but have gone on faith. The address is Box 968, Pago Pago, American Samoa.... Stuart and Marilyn Cook, who labor in Johannesburg, South Africa, will be joined by the Roger Vickroy family of Rapids City, Illinois. The brethren have recently purchased a meetinghouse in Johannesburg.... Tom and Libby Fife and family mailed a most interesting seasonal letter of greeting from Goiania, Goia, Brazil, in which they state that the four congregations of saints in Goiania are all doing well.... Larry Stephens, who is a graduate student in history at Fort Hays Kansas State College is going to do a thesis on current attempts to solve the problem of disunity between Christian Churches and Churches of Christ. His address is Wooster Place E 7,

Hays, Kansas.... Our good and friend and brother, Barry Willbanks, will be serving the cause in metropolitan Boston, while doing work on his doctorate at Harvard Divinity School. The congregation currently meets in Bedford, Massachusetts. Barry may be contacted at 9 Claremon, Apt. 3, Somerville, Massachusetts 02144.... Although we do not know the price as yet, we will receive advance reservations for the book containing the speeches on "The Holy Spirit" delivered at the Hartford Forum. These messages from men of divergent backgrounds should be read by every Christian.... We urge those who want to share MISSION MESSENGER with their brethren to write for special quantity rates. What a wonderful thing it would be if a teacher regularly made these messages available to his class. The cost can be relatively little.... We have addressed a letter to the editor of The Optimist, Abilene Christian College Student Newspaper, respectfully challenging the student body to "hear the other side of the subject of fellowship as opposed to the exclusivistic and monastic closed-door policy of the 'Churches of Christ.'" We will keep our readers informed of developments.... Bert Ellis, Pusan, Korea, writes about "a grass-roots movement of concerned Christians who can see the folly of de-nominationalism among a minority group such as the Christians are in Korea." The participants came from many denominations to discuss their problem in love and intense concern. It could well be that history will repeat itself and the churches on mission fields will light the way to better things for the churches back home.... Do not get tired of us reminding you of the need of our brother, Diosdado P. Menor, Calapan, Oriental Mindoro, Philippines, for funds to purchase a long carriage typewriter for use in literature work among his people. What a shame that we must beg repeatedly for such help from a people who drive to meeting richly clad and in shiny air-conditioned automobiles while ignoring such pleas of native brethren.... We would like to see our readers investigate the book "God is Not Dead" by Gordon H. Girod and especially the chapter on "The New Universalism." We will send you a copy for $2.95.... Speaking of books this will be our last mention that you can secure a copy of "Deep Roots" containing all of our issues of last year for the special price of $2.49. It will cost you $2.95 after March 1, so we urge you to send a postal card now and reserve as many as you wish at the reduced price for advance orders.... We are indebted to the following who sent us beautiful colored pictorial calendars of their area: John S. Fulford, Mowbray, Cape Province, Africa; Tom and Annie Nisbet, Haddington, Scotland; Fred and Hilda Hardy, Morley, Yorkshire, England; and May Herring, Fairview, Nova Scotia.... We also appreciate the first day covers with stamps attached from various countries which have been sent by brethren and friends.... Mont Smith, reports from Kiramu, Ethiopia, that 87 Ethiopians attended meetings in his living room in one week.... Alvin Nicholson says that the new church building at Gcilima, south of Port Shepstone, Natal, South Africa, was packed for all three services on opening day.... Brethren Spencer and Prather have started preaching at two Haitian labor camps on Northern Andros in the Bahamas.... Philip Ho and wife have embarked for India, sent forth by Ninth Street Church of Christ, Eldon, Missouri.... Motoyuki Nomura reports 25 souls added as a result of his work at Motosu Camp, in Japan.... Ralph Burcham, Saigon, Vietnam, reports they could go on three more radio stations if they had the tapes.... Wayfull and Helen Jew will go to Japan next spring with the intent of starting a rural ministry on the island of Tanegashima.
