Now that the new year has arrived let us remind you that if your subscription is set to expire any time in 1969, if you will send us three dollars for a three year renewal we will send you absolutely free a copy of the book, "The Holy Spirit in Our Lives Today."... More than 21 congregations were represented in our series of studies and question forums at Neelysville, Ohio.... Harry and Elaine Scates returned to Brazil on November 8 and will open a new work in Uberlandia.... Ragon Flannery, Lawrence Bixler, James S. McKowen and Marshall Leggett were the speakers at Pacific Christian Convention.... Leon Clymore, 611 North Wilson, Pasadena, California, who labored three years in Zambia and four years in Malawi, is now in Fuller Theological Seminary School of World Missions. Leon is anxious to return to Africa to take a non-partisan message of hope based upon renewal through recovery of the apostolic proclamation. If you are eager to help this kind of effort we urge you to write to him.... A. V. Mansur, Route 3, Box 278, Galt, California 95632, would like to mail you without cost or obligation three monographs, bearing these titles: The Stigma of the Laity; Law, or Grace and Truth; and The Abandoned Scriptures. Just write to him and ask for them. There is no charge at all.... It was our privilege to speak three nights at College Heights Christian Church, Joplin, Missouri, and conduct two afternoon open question forums. I also spoke seven times at Ozark Bible College, and met with college students two nights in lengthy forums.... If you have not yet ordered a free copy of the book "A Trimming of the Wick" you should send your request at once to Arthur T. Boone, 404 Florida Theatre Building, Jacksonville, Florida 32202. Arthur is an attorney who takes a careful look at the current status of the restoration movement. Remember, if you hurry, you can secure a copy of his book without cost.... There were twelve different groups from the restoration background represented in the dialogue sessions at Lock Haven, Pennsylvania, with an attendance of about fifty per session.... Charles and Jean Akers, Miami, Oklahoma, are working to establish a home for unwed mothers, in which a Christian atmosphere will be brought to bear upon the lives of those who are accepted. The purpose is to provide a place of instruction, rehabilitation and evangelism for those who need our Lord. You may write Mrs. Jean Akers, 229 "F" N.W., Miami, Oklahoma 74354.... Kyle Simplot has resigned work at Erwin, Tennessee, to return to college and work on his degree.... We were saddened by the death of our friend and brother, Garten Williams, of Oklahoma City. He was a member of the League of American Wheelmen, a national bicycle-riding organization, and was only seven miles short of completing one hundred miles in ten hours when struck by a truck on the highway.... One of the most interesting adventures for Christ of which I know is the "coffee house ministry" maintained by the brethren in the Chicago area. If you are interested in helping to reach people where they are, why not write to James A. Coulson, 5051 North Central Park, Chicago, Illinois. These brethren are doing something tangible about the problem of dope addiction.... The supply of our book "Thoughts on Fellowship" is getting rather low. This was the first of the series of bound volumes and contains the issues for 1957 and 1958. You will read of the first reactions and opposition to our plea for a wider fellowship based upon unity with Jesus. It is all here with a whole lot more. The cost is only $2.95 per copy.

... We would like to ask a favor of all brethren who have been engaged in any kind of ministry to those in jails and prisons. Will you please make contact with Roger Behrends, 614 North Wall Street, Joplin, Missouri 64801. This young man is desirous of training for this much needed work and he wants to hear from those who have had any experience at all in the field.... Henry Boren writes of some exciting discoveries in the archaeological dig at Arad, during the summer of 1967. Since that he has spent a year in Rome working on a project in Roman numismatics as an original contribution to the history of the Roman Republic, which is his special field. Henry is in the history department of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.... I will conduct a study in depth at First Christian Church, 230 Northeast Fourth Street, Miami, Florida 33132, to which all branches of the restoration movement will be invited. In addition to the night sessions, I will address the Exchange Club at a noon luncheon, and a Ministers' Breakfast, open to all preachers. There will be morning sessions with open questioning from the audience. You may write Robert Shaw at the address given or call him at 374-3427.... I will be speaking each evening at the School of Christian Living, Louisville, Kentucky, February 24-28. Write Roy McClain, 4438 Park Boulevard, Louisville, Kentucky 40209 for information.... During my visit to Louisville in November I spoke two nights at Camden Avenue Christian Church, and morning and afternoon at Louisville Bible College. It was also a privilege to engage in a one-hour open line program from Station WFIA, and to address the morning chapel service at Portland Avenue Christian School. My visit to Louisville was sponsored by the alumni association of Louisville Bible College for their annual college conference.... We are hopeful that the concerned ones in several congregations of saints will write for special bundle rates and distribute the papers each month to those who are seeking a closer walk with God through study and meditation. Really the cost is very little when you secure the paper in this manner. Write us about it.... D. N. Elangwe, P.O. Box 121, Kumba, West Cameroon, West Africa, prints a monthly paper called Restoration. He is a native brother of that area.... Dewey Thackston is the new editor of the missions section of The Canadian Christian Harbinger.... Joseph O'Neal put out a provocative issue of Century of Recovery in November. The address of this monthly is Box 11, Englehard. North Carolina 27824.... Baxter Loe's editorial in Gospel Tidings for November was titled, "Our Banquet of Consequences." It was exceptionally good and we commend our brother for it.... In Truth Magazine for November, Bill Banowsky is cited by O. C. Birdwell, Jr., as proof that "liberal preachers and churches are moving into the mainstream of denominationalism." The charge is based upon the fact that Brother Banowsky spoke at the North American Christian Convention in Cincinnati.... The editorial by Leroy Garrett in the October issue of Restoration Review was titled, "Don't Hang Up Your Harps." It was a stirring appeal to maintain a constant witness even under difficult circumstances. The paper is published at 1201 Windsor Drive, Denton, Texas 76201, and the subscription rate is only a dollar per year.... In Gospel Guardian for November 21, Fanning Yater Tant has an editorial entitled "So What Else is New?" It was sparked by reading the book "Axe on the Root" which was written by Ira Y. Rice to show that the "Church of Christ" had gone liberal during his absence from the United States. Brother Tant says that the news is "old hat" to him but since the battle is now joined he will watch with mixed emotions.
