     I am deeply indebted to the students at Northwest Christian College, Eugene, Oregon, for bringing me to the campus for "Inspiration Week." I chose as my general theme, "Live Wires and Current Concerns." In addition to the formal addresses I was privileged to teach eight college classes and to speak nightly at Westside Church of Christ. Fred Doris was Devotional Chairman and did an excellent job.... In the Chicago area I shared with Donald Marshall, Richard Hazeltine and Glen Giese, in discussion of "Christian Contemporary Concepts" at Hoffman Estates, Illinois, and in daytime forums with brethren of various segments of the restoration movement. There were some thirteen congregations represented at the night meetings, about equally divided between Christian Churches and Churches of Christ. W. Cain Smith presided over the meetings in a masterful fashion.... Don H. Morris has resigned as president of Abilene Christian College and has been succeeded by John C. Stevens, who will be the eighth president of the 63-year old institution. J. D. Thomas also succeeds Paul Southern as head of the Department of Bible.... Dr. Orville Walters of the University of Illinois Department of Health Sciences spoke at Southeastern Christian College Commencement, at Winchester, Kentucky.... Pacific Christian College, Long Beach, California, has received accreditation from the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.... Charles Boatman, of St. Louis Christian College, will visit Liberia in August to investigate the possibility of working with some six thousand Liberians who have withdrawn from all denominational affiliations to find a more Biblical approach.... Phil Young, also of Saint Louis Christian College, will be working this summer on the "dig" at the site of ancient Gezer in Palestine.... We attended a "Youth for Decency" Rally in Saint Louis recently where some two thousand high school students pledged themselves to work for standards of morality and patriotism.... The Fourth Annual Unity Forum is scheduled at West Islip Church of Christ, 600 Montauk Highway, Long Island, New York, July 3-5.... Clinton Brazle, North Weyburn, Saskatchewan, and Harold Fox, Malta, Montana, will teach at the camp near Macrorie, Saskatchewan, where I will also be teaching again. The camp will be held from July 27 through July 30. Everyone is invited to this family style camp which will feature an open forum question period this year.... Have you read Voices of Concern, the book which aroused so much feeling in certain areas? Perhaps there has not been another book in recent years that has drawn so much fire in the printed pages of journals. Read it and you will see why.... My good friend and brother, Charles Branum, is to become Director of Radio Operations for Toronto Christian Mission. In addition to his work in editing and supervising English broadcasts, he will assist John Huk whose messages in the Russian tongue are already being aired to reach behind the Iron Curtain.... Sammy Brake, who came from his native country of Syria to prepare to take the message of salvation to his people is working in Damascus. This is a most interesting thing because the Arab states have refused to admit men from outside to take the word of life to their people.... David Scates, whom I know and love, is making such progress in learning the language of the Navajo Indians among whom he works, that he is able to conduct Bible studies in the native tongue at several places on the reservation.... Cecil and Alma Garrison, Route 1, Box 213, Mill Hall, Pennsylvania, have collaborated in

bringing Volume 2 of "Golden Moments in the Lives of Children." This book is filled with story and illustrative material to be used in teaching children. Some of the material can he woven into sermons addressed primarily to the young. Volume Number 1 is still available for $1.50 per copy, but Volume 2 will be mailed you on request and you can pay whatever you feel is a fair contribution to be used in bring out the third book in the series. Write to the address above.... Max Ward Randall was Commencement speaker at Nebraska Christian College, Norfolk, Nebraska.... My good friend, Newell F. Morgan, Boise, Idaho, was awarded the degree of Doctor of Divinity at Northwest Christian College. He is indeed a worthy recipient.... Our newest book, Simple Trusting Faith, is enjoying a good sale, and some dealers are sending repeat orders. We would like to mail you a copy for $3.50.... Ted Cline, Weatherford, Oklahoma, has resigned his work there, and will move to Harlan, Kentucky to work with the Elm Street Church of Christ.... The new editor of Sentinel of Truth is Harold Spurlock, who succeeds Charles Holt. Harold will be a good man in the editorship and we suspect that the paper will continue to be quite challenging. We urge you to write him at Post Office Box 1717, Kilgore, Texas 75662, and ask for a sample copy. You'll enjoy reading it even if you do not agree with all you read.... Ozark Bible College has broken ground for a new cafeteria to serve the more than 750 students who attend there. The new structure will eventually be incorporated into a wing which will contain a 3000 seat auditorium.... It is our honest opinion that the North American Christian Convention, meeting at Cobo Hall, Detroit, Michigan, July 8-11, will be one of the most interesting events planned by any of our brethren in many decades.... We urge you to write for them.... We lost a long-time friend and brother in Christ in the passing of Richard Robinson, at Riverside, California on May 21.... It has been announced that Roy E. Cogdill and James W. Adams will become associate editors of Truth Magazine, which will convert from a monthly to a weekly periodical starting in October. The editor is Cecil Willis, and the mailing address is Box 14182, Louisville, Kentucky 40214.... It will interest our readers to know that the article entitled "Cultural Challenge" which appeared in our May issue drew more letters and requests for extra copies than anything else we have ever written.... All of the papers for this year will be bound into attractive book form at the close of 1969, under the title Commandoes For Christ. We believe that much of what is being written this year will be valuable and relevant for years to come.... It will be my privilege to share with James DeForest Murch and Don DeWelt at the Men's Roundup to be held at Colorado Christian Service Camp, Colorado, August 19-21.... I will be speaking to the Family Camp at Little Galilee, near Clinton, Illinois, August 29, 30; and on Labor Day will address an expected two thousand people at Zion, Illinois, as a part of the annual Jubilee Days Program.... On September 15, I will address the Men's Fellowship Gathering at Springfield, Missouri.... We urgently request that you remember our effort during the summer months when the subscription list always seems to drop down.
