Milton Garner tells us that Walter Wicklund conducted a Vacation Study at Bridge congregation, near Dexter, and following it two were immersed, one of whom was Milton's 16-year old daughter. We rejoice with them.... We keep reading in all of the religious papers about the summer slump, and we know how to sympathize with the editors. But Nell and I are thankful for the fact that there are several of our brothers and sisters who contribute to make it possible for us to keep sounding out the message of love and peace. Of course, without such assistance we could not continue, but we have a firm trust in God and a real confidence in those who love him. There are several things that we regret about our editorial work, one of which is that we must work so far in advance that the news is stale when you get it. There is really no way we can avoid this because I am away from home so much.... We are looking forward to seeing a lot of brethren whom we love in the near future. I will be speaking at the Colorado Men's Roundup, at the Christian Service Camp, Rocking R Sky Ranch, Como, Colorado, August 19-21; at Family Camp at Little Galilee, in Illinois, August 29, 30; at Jubilee Days Program, Zion, Illinois, September 1; at the Men's Fellowship Meeting, Springfield, Missouri, September 15; and at the Wisconsin State Christian Convention, October 10, 11. In addition to these I will conduct a week of study in depth at Washington, Illinois, September 29-October 3; and another at Clinton, Illinois, October 13-17. This will be the second such study at Clinton in successive years as we were there last year to engage in a teaching session about the Holy Spirit.... Looking still further into the future I will be back in Flint, Michigan, November 3-7; and will be at Atlanta Christian College, Atlanta, Georgia, to address the Alumni Rally on November 14. I am sure that you will realize that with such a rugged schedule my reading and writing must suffer from some neglect. And it does not appear that 1970 will be any better for I am scheduling a great many special studies and lectures. We shall need your prayers.... Please send in the subscriptions of the concerned ones in your area so they can share with us!
