     Dallas Christian College and the brethren who meet at Wynnewood Chapel in Dallas combined their efforts to sponsor "Operation Understanding" in their city January 12, 13. I was privileged to speak and share in four meetings, and the interest and attention were excellent.... The Gospel Guardian reproduced our article "The Fading Fear" in the issue for January 8. In an editorial attacking me as "an extremist and an enthusiast," Brother Yater Tant said of my writing, "It would be a sad mistake (which some are making) to dismiss his plea as insignificant and inconsequential." We have just begun to fight our sectarian attitude in the Churches of Christ!.... Gary Price, 1106 K, University Village, East Lansing, Michigan 48823, says he got excellent tapes of the Hartford Forum. If you would like to get the tape for any of the sessions write to him for particulars.... I am deeply indebted to my sister in the Lord, Mrs. B. D. Phillips, Butler, Pennsylvania, for presenting me with a life membership in the Disciples of Christ Historical Society, in Nashville, Tennessee.... Upon receipt of personal request we will send absolutely free to any college or university student a copy of "Voices of Concern," edited by Robert Meyers. This $3.50 volume will soon be out of print and we want to share some of the remaining copies with college students. We are deeply indebted to Ralph Harter, who labors for the Lord in India, and who sent us a beautiful calendar from Bombay.... The brethren where Robert Shaw labors in Miami, are beginning a program in the inner city, and have asked me to tell you that they are searching for a director and teachers for a Christian-oriented, preschool, day-care program, with training and experience in kindergarten and day-care instruction and administration. They are outstanding Christian young people.... The young people in Decatur are editing an interesting news letter called "Youth News and Views." From it we gleaned this one: "The old folk wonder what the young folk are coming to, while the young folk wonder when the old folk are coming too."... We have a special reason for notifying our readers now that I will be in Flint, Michigan, at Genesee Church of Christ, November 2-6, this fall. We urge all who can to think in terms of sharing with us in that study about which we shall tell you more later on. Mark the date on your calendar now!... And while we are talking about far-off dates, we have a real preaching convention planned for February 1, 2, 3, 1971, at Manhattan Bible College, Manhattan, Kansas. We are going to seek to get with it in dealing with life in this decade. It is planned that I will speak five times on varied aspects of "Changed Lives for Changing Times."... Speaking about next year reminds me that I am to be the key speaker at the World Vision Crusade in Grand Junction, Colorado, March 3, 4, 5, 1971. I am anticipating with pleasure being with my brother, Erskine F. Scates, president of Intermountain Bible College.
