     During the Appalachian Preaching Mission I spoke five times to noonday audiences at the Capri Theater, Johnson City, Tennessee, to crowds numbering up to 419. All of the messages were broadcast over radio. It was my privilege to speak to a fraternity group at Eastern Tennessee State, to convocations at Milligan College, Emmanuel School of Religion, and deliver night addresses at Elizabethton, and Kingsport, Tennessee.... Integrity for January contained the speech on "The Walls Come Tumbling Down" as delivered by Hoy Ledbeffer at the Hartford Forum. You ought to read this. We are distressed that our brother is considering relinquishing his post as editor. He is excellent for the work in our estimation.... We regret to report the death of J. Early Arcenaux, in Waco, Texas; and of Frank Summers, Middletown, Indiana. The latter, a former Indiana State legislator, died of burns suffered in a gas explosion. Both of these brethren made an impact upon my life.... Agape is the name of a coffee house started in Georgetown (Washington, D. C. area) for counselling hippies and other troubled youth. Did you read "McLuhan on Religion" in Christianity Today, February 13 issue~ Pat Boone led the Sing-Song at Abilene Christian College, before the lectureship started. We are saddened by the death of our brother, William Weed, in Arvada, Colorado.... Orin Hardenbrook has started a health clinic at Clayton, Washington, but still intends to preach to horsemen and cowboys as he has done for years.... Our aged brother, Emery Smith, departed this life in Colorado, February 16.... During the Abilene Christian College Lectureship I was invited to speak one night at Southwest Park Christian Church, by my good friend, Alvin Houser, who ministers there. I chose as a theme "Solving Problems in Long Division." The house was crowded to capacity with students and faculty members from the college, as well as brethren present for the lectureship. The question period was especially interesting.... On the way home from Abilene I spoke at a dinner meeting of brethren in the Holiday Inn at Arlington. Representatives from 17 congregations in the area were present for the presentation on restoration of the scriptural view of fellowship in the Lord Jesus. Again, the question period was particularly significant. Robert Fife, who is currently teaching at Milligan College will teach at Pepperdine College during his sabbatical. He will also assist at Pacific Christian College in Long Beach, California at the same time. Dr. Fife was one of the brethren chosen to represent the Christian Church in the recent dialogues between brethren in Memphis and Saint Louis.... I have just read a most interesting paper presented at a seminar in Canyon, Texas, by Lyndon C. Latham, 6401 Irwin Road, Amarillo, Texas 79108. The title is "A Great Need of the Church Today." I wish that all of you might read it.... Brethren operating Camp Shiloh, a ministry to neglected children of the inner city, desperately need your help just now. Sanders, dean of Pepperdine College for 13 years will become Vice President of Columbia Christian College in May.... The summer lectures at David Lipscomb College, Nashville, Tennessee, are scheduled for June 14-17.... Lewis Foster will be the speaker at the Missouri Christian Lectureship, Moberly, Missouri, March 10-12. . . . Nebraska Christian College has chosen as its convention theme for April 14-16, "Holding Fast the Faithful Word."
