The Lord used the First Christian Church, in Santa Ana, California, as a
catalyst to bring together brethren from many segments of the restoration movement, during the
study in depth conducted on the theme, "A New Look at the Book of Acts." It was a real
privilege for me to be associated with Gerald S. Bash and James Stock, who labor with the
congregation.... I am scheduled to be in another study at First Christian Church, 1300 S. Juniper
Street, Escondido, California 92025, next January 10-15, on a different theme. Some brethren
are seriously considering taking their vacations so they can be in that area for both evening and

our attention to the frightful need of native brethren in India, as a result of a sweeping storm

Gospel Festival at Puget Sound College of the Bible.... Bryce Jessup is the new dean of students

address at the World Convention of Churches of Christ to be held in Adelaide, Australia.... The
12th annual lectureship of the Church of Christ Bible Chair, Eastern New Mexico University, at
Portales, brought together a great list of speakers on the theme, "Getting to Know Christ."... We

writes from Korea that the effort of brethren in the various segments of the restoration
movement to combine their resources to bring out books in the native tongue is proceeding with
excellent results. Thus far they have produced On the Rock, by D. R. Dungan, and
Commentary on Acts, by J. W. McGarvey. Milligan's Commentary on Hebrews
is currently being translated.... After lengthy exchanges in "letters to the editor" about Pat Boone,
the Christion Chronicle has drawn the curtain on a dispute created when Pat
acknowledged that he had spoken in tongues in private prayer.... Two diverse opinions on the
validity of the use of instruments in expression of corporate worship are offered in the March
issue of Mission by Robert P. Donalson and J. W. Roberts. It is evident that anything
which is as complex as these brethren make it can never be as plain as they would like to have us
think it is. To hinge fellowship in the kingdom of heaven upon a correct interpretation of this
theme would be like forcing everyone to recite the Supreme Court decisions for fifty years as a
test of admission to citizenship in our nation.... It will be my privilege to participate in a thrust
for Christ in the outdoor amphitheater on the campus quadrangle at Illinois State University,
May 7. Also involved will be Campus Crusade, Intervarsity, Navigators, Chris-
tian Collegians, Church of Christ, et. al. We shall lift up a standard for our Lord in an area where
the action is On the evening of June 8, I will speak at Lawrenceville, Illinois, under auspices of
"The Kingdom Builders."... Among other activities at the North America Christian Convention I
will join in the presentation of workshop sessions on "The Restoration Movement in the

Ron Durham reported the Abilene Christian College Lectureship in the March 27 issue of
Christianity Today.... Leroy Garrett was at Portales, New Mexico in a three day
"Adventure in Freedom" March 20-22.... The Pocket Testament League will distribute a
half million copies of the Gospel of John in fifteen languages at Expo 70, in Tokyo, Japan....
Carl F. H. Henry has been named professor of theology at Eastern Theological Seminary.... Ken
Washburn, Algie Rousseau, and Sam E. Stone will speak at The Northmen Retreat, in
the Michigan woods, August 4-6.... Brethren from four states attended the meeting at Grassy
congregation, near Arab, Alabama, and there was evidence of some great spiritual breakthroughs
in behalf of unity of the believers. A question forum was held each morning and at the close of
each night's message. I also spoke at a luncheon in Huntsville, in which questions were answered
for those present. The congregation is composed of free men and women where fellowship is not
extended along factional and partisan lines.... Brethren in Brazil report a spirit of love and unity
prevailing in their discussions at Curitiba.... Pepperdine College conferred the honorary degree
of Doctor of Laws upon Ronald Reagan, Governor of California.... Gottfried Reichel reports that
61 persons have been immersed as the result of the radio program in the German language.... A
new weekly radio program in the Czech language is being broadcast over Radio Luxemburg,
with Czech-born Jaro Schubert doing the speaking.... It will be my privilege to speak at Family
Camp, at Little Galilee Christian Campground (Illinois), again this year on September 4 and 5....
I will also conduct the third study in depth at Clinton, Illinois, October 5-9, and will in a like
study at Bedford, Indiana, October 12-16.... It is our hope that we will be able to see many of our
