The April issue of The Scripture Standard, 133 Long Lane, Hindley, Lanes., England contained excellent articles on "Differences and Divisions" by R. B. Scott, and "The Restoration Movement" by Carlton Melling.... The Christian Appeal for May was an outstanding issue. It is published at 4220 West 11th Avenue, Amarillo, Texas 79106.... A new journal called The Crusader has been launched by Vernon M. Newland, P.O. Box 143, St. Clair, Missouri 63077. In the first issue Brother Newland writes at length about "Dialogue with Churches of Christ (Non-Instrument)." We think you ought to read this. Why not write for a copy?... Dwaine Dunning, who has been at Platte Valley Bible College, Scottsbluff, Nebraska, is transferring to Saint Louis Christian College, where he will teach Restoration Literature and courses in Bible.... Sherman S. Pemberton reports from Africa that the brethren have 3,036 students enrolled in school in the Mashoko District, and 1,135 in Hippo Valley.... James Cash Penney, founder of the J. C. Penney Stores, was awarded the 20 millionth copy of "Good News for Modern Man," by the American Bible Society. The book was presented by Ralph W. Sockman.... Much of the credit for arrangement of this event goes to J. David Lang of Christian Church Campus Ministry who acted as liaison man with the various groups, and to Earl Dunbar, a student, who never lost faith that it could be done.... I consider the panel of scholars who participated in the unity forum held on Lubbock Christian College Campus as one of the most qualified of all such groups ever to assemble for such a dialogue. The meetings were held July 2-4.... Jaime R. Vidal is returning to his native Dominican Republic to serve in Santo Domingo, the capitol.... Bill Burton and family are going back to labor in Rome where they formerly worked for three years. Richard Hazeltine delivered the commencement address for graduates at Nebraska Christian College, and James DeForest Murch gave the address for graduates of Puget Sound College of the Bible. During the Gospel Festival at the latter, a new record of attendance was set to hear Russell Blowers speak.... Did you receive a copy of the book Christian Commandos which contains all of the issues of the paper last year? We will send you one for only $2.95. It will make a welcome addition to your library.... Joseph Mitsuo Kitagawa is the new dean of the Divinity School of the University of Chicago.... The Association of Chicago Priests, largest regional association of Roman Catholic prelates, voted against continuation of the ban which prohibits them from marrying. The tally was 388 against to only 184 in favor.... My good friend, Bill Thompson, will serve as minister for Central Christian Church, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.... Bryce Jessup spoke to more than 1100 teenagers and their sponsors at the San Jose State College Cafeteria, in California. The occasion was the annual Crossbearers Crusade.... In our next issue we plan to deal with "The Name Pattern" and this will be the first of several issues devoted to showing that we have sectarianized the title "Church of Christ," while the called-out ones actually have no institutional title at all.... We are deeply grateful to those of our readers who hold up our hands in our attempt to share insights with others to the end that the party spirit may be overthrown among us.
