The North American Christian Convention was held in Saint Louis, July 7-10, and proved to be the largest religious gathering in the United States of this particular nature. It is essentially a preaching mission with stress upon sounding out the Word. No resolutions are passed, no special business affecting congregations is transacted. There are workshops of various kinds and meetings going on from early morning until late at night. Unquestionably, the influence of such a conflux of brethren upon a downtown area is considerable and it is good. This year, men from Disciples of Christ, and Churches of Christ, as well as Christian Churches, were in evidence. It was my privilege to speak at a luncheon of the Christian Missionary Fellowship, and to assist in three workshops. The 1971 convention will be held in Dallas, Texas, July 6-9, with Marshall Leggett as president. We urge all who are concerned about brotherhood in Christ Jesus to attend and share in the gathering.... We congratulate Leonard and Esther Camp, Atascadero, California, who recently celebrated their golden wedding anniversary. It was also the fiftieth year of our brother's preaching labors.... Justin B. Roberts has been named as the fourth president of Ohio Valley College, Parkersburg, West Virginia. Brother Roberts gave up his job as principal of Little Hocking School in Ohio, to assume the new responsibility.... It has been our privilege to converse with brethren who attended the unity conference at Lubbock, Texas, and it was their general opinion that this was one of the best of the gatherings. In every conversation and letter special mention is made of the attitude and speech of Ervin Waters as being one of the high points of the meeting. We commend the brethren who sponsored this important convocation.... If you have not seen a copy of New Wine as published by Kyle R. Simplot, 309 South Main, Erwin, Tennessee 37650, why not write for one? You are free to express your views in or about it....
