The meeting with Highland congregation in Louisville, Kentucky, was a refreshing experience. Brethren from many segments of the restoration background attended, and were welcomed and used in the services. Attendance in the evening meetings was good, and reached 80 for the last morning question forum.... Jennings Randolph, United States Senator from West Virginia, was the commencement speaker at Ohio Valley College.... Orval D. Peterson was the commencement speaker, and Willie W. White, the baccalaureate speaker, at Northwest Christian College.... Bryan Vinson, who affirms that he is a white supremacist, wrote on "The Racial Problem in America" in The Gospel Guardian. One of the most pointed replies was from an Indian brother who wrote "A Red Man Looks at Vinson.". . . Harold Spurlock, editor of Sentinel of Truth, zeroed in on the institutional church concept in the May issue of his journal.... H. Decker Clark, Jr., is the new editor of North American Christian, succeeding James Robert Jarrell.... The annual Brush Arbor Meeting was held June 25, 26 at Engelhard, North Carolina. It always attracts many hundreds of listeners.... Harold Ford is joining the faculty of the Graduate School at Cincinnati Bible Seminary, where he will teach church history. He is eminently qualified.... The article "Glossolalia" by Roy Osborne in the June 1 issue of Firm Foundation is one of the best that I have read. In the same issue R. L. Roberts presents an article on "Abstracts of Periodical Articles on Glossolalia."... Two of my books are now in short supply and will go out of print before the year ends. They are "Deep Roots" and "Our Living Pattern." Those who are planning to keep a complete set of bound volumes of this paper should send for these at once. The price is only $2.95 each.... One of the most interesting new publications I have seen lately is Global Village. It is concerned with Ecology and Religion, and is edited by a couple of 20-year old young men in the Churches of Christ. It is a thought-provoking presentation on Environment and Faith. We want you to send for it. Mail $1.50 to Global Village, Route 1, Riner, Virginia 24149. If you are a college student or faculty member you will be pleased to see that brethren are doing something constructive to meet the challenge of this generation.... There is another new booklet out for children. It is "Golden Moments in Prayer" by Elma E. Garrison, and it is well-written and has lovely and appropriate illustrations. The attractive book sells for only 50c each, or 100 copies for $25.00, so you can distribute it to homes with children in your area. You can secure yours by writing to Hands for Him, Inc., P.O. Box 103, Farmington, N. M. 87401.... One indication of the changing times is found in the fact that one of the oldest Roman Catholic Colleges in the nation, St. Joseph's College for Women at Emmitsburg, Maryland, is closing because there are not enough teaching nuns available to staff it.... It is my hope that I may see a number of brethren at the Blue Ridge Men's Clinic, August 27, 28, where I will be privileged to join with Beauford Bryant and Clarence Greenleaf on the speaking program.... I am also looking forward to being at the Louisiana Christian Convention, where I will speak on October 14, 15. The meetings will be held in the building of Westview Christian Church, 3401 Greenwood Road, Shreveport, Louisiana 71109, and you may contact Don Fream, at that address, for program information.... At the close of this year, all of the articles that I have written on the analysis of Romans 8, will be gathered in our next volume, which will be titled One Great Chapter. This book

will contain 192 pages and be indexed. The edition will be limited to a thousand copies, and it will not be re-printed. We suggest that if you want to be sure to secure a copy you reserve one now. The book will be mailed out about February 1, and the price will be $2.95. If you plan to use it for gifts, please reserve the number that you want. Send no money. You will be billed with the books. Simply write to MISSION MESSENGER, 139 Signal Hill Drive, Saint Louis, Missouri 63121, and tell us how many you want. Your order will be filled as soon as the books come from the bindery.... The Melody Boys, those inimitable singers of God's praise, have come out with another long play album under the title Harmony Times Four. You can secure one by sending $4.00 to Melody Boys Quartet, P. 0. Box 106, Farmersburg, Indiana 47850.... Arnold Kelley, a student, at the Memphis School of Preaching was the 200th person to receive free a copy of my book Simple Trusting Faith. The book is sent with our love to any college or university student who personally requests it. It will not be sent to students upon request of parents or friends. Those who qualify should send the request on postcard or letter and give the name of the school where enrolled. There is absolutely no obligation beyond this.... It is my very fervent hope that I may see a number of our readers at Astoria, Illinois, where I will be conducting a series of studies, September 20-24. If you would like additional information you may contact Dale Eddington, P.O. Box 705, Astoria, Illinois 61501, or you may telephone him at 329-2150. It is very important in this materialistic age that God's children meet together around His wonderful word.... There are two articles in the July issue of Reader's Digest, which I hope you will not overlook. The titles are, "What Sex Offenders Say About Pornography," and "Awesome Power of Human Love."... Brethren in Toronto Christian Mission are now broadcasting the Good News from Radio Monte Carlo, in the Russian language. It is estimated that at least one million people behind the iron curtain listen to every program beamed in to them in their language. John Huk, who presents the program will soon be joined by George Repetski, a brother who is fluent in the Russian language.... We have reached the decision that beginning with the January issue we will do what we can through these small pages to reach out to the hearts hungering for unity among all believers in our Lord. In 1957 when I first began to write "Thoughts on Fellowship," I worked out a sort of timetable for my own spiritual progress. I shall now move on to the fourth and final step. I had not expected to live long enough to see this time, but I am quite convinced now that we are far enough along on the first three phases of the work that we can launch out without fear of "running ahead of God." We are not going to forsake the restoration movement, but we do plan to go back to the inception of it, and recapture its ideals, before we become fragmented among ourselves. Despite the attitude found in some few places, our brethren in all segments are on their way out of the dogmatism and hostility of yesteryear. The institutional church will still force some of them out of its ranks and this may not be altogether bad, but Jesus is going to put it all together, and I want to get on with the task of helping really answer his prayer. Our series of articles in 1972 will relate to "Twentieth Century Renewal," and that will be the title of the book for the year.... There is a considerable amount of pressure upon me to bring out a revised edition of the book called The Twisted Scriptures, and if I can find time I shall begin work upon it. In the meantime plans are being made for other volumes which will assist our beloved brethren in presenting the Message as relevant to this age.
