The study in depth at Farmington, New Mexico,
attracted the largest attendance in the history of the
congregation, with extra seats in the aisles upon several
occasions. A significant feature was the regular attendance of
Jesus People from Taos and Farmington. Brethren came from several
states, and the attendance in the daytime forums was also
excellent.... In Escondido, California, attendance broke an
82-year-old record, with 612 present on Sunday. The largest
daytime question session brought out 256. It was my privilege to
speak at a breakfast of ministers representing various religious
organizations, at a Senior Citizen luncheon with more than a
hundred present, and at a Kiwanis Meeting at the Country Club. I
answered questions for a large group of college and high school
students and twice spoke at a high school where the questions of
the students made it possible to bear a strong witness to Jesus,
as "the man from outside" who can put it all together. Brethren
attended from all over southern California and from every segment
of the restoration movement.... All of the issues of MISSION
MESSENGER for this year will be bound in a beautiful volume under
the title The Divine Purpose, which will be ready for

book if you wish.... On February 15 there were just 75 copies of
Apples of Gold still in stock. This is the title of the
bound copy for 1967, and the articles are especially important.

Christian Standard published a beautiful four-color
edition on March 5, featuring full advance coverage of the North
American Christian Convention. The final service will be held in
Cincinnati's mammoth new Riverfront Stadium, with Richard
Crabtree as speaker. He is the right man to bring the Good News
in the huge playground of the Cincinnati Reds and the Cincinnati
Bengals.... Billy Graham placed second and Pope Paul eighth in
the Gallup Poll's list of Most Admired Men in 1971. In first
place was President Richard Nixon.... We commend the brethren
from both sides of the "instrumental fence" who met together at
the YWCA in Seoul, Korea to discuss how they might better work
together for Jesus. We pray for such honest efforts.
